The short version

  • We only ask for information we need to help your family or answer your question.
  • We never sell your information. We never share it for advertising.
  • This website does not track you and shows no ads.
  • You can ask us to see, fix or delete your information at any time.

Who we are

This website belongs to United for a Good Cause Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. When this page says “we” or “us,” it means United for a Good Cause and the volunteers who help run our programs.

What information we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us on our forms.

When you send us a message

Your name, your email, your phone number if you give it, the language you prefer, and your message. We use it only to answer you.

When you register your family for the Christmas Fiesta

The information the registration form asks for, such as the parent or guardian’s name and how to reach you, and information about your children so we can plan a gift for each child. We use it only to run the Fiesta and deliver gifts.

When you sign up to volunteer

Your name, how to reach you and when you are available. We use it only to organize volunteers.

Donations

This website does not take payments yet. When online donations start, a secure payment company will handle them. We will never see or store your full card number. We will update this page before that happens.

Children’s information

Our Christmas program serves children, so we are extra careful.

  • A parent or guardian fills out the registration form, not the child.
  • This website is not meant for children to use on their own. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.
  • Only our board members and our registration team leaders can see registration information. When they need extra help, one assistant they choose may help them.

Photos

  • We only post photos where children cannot be recognized, unless a parent gave us written permission.
  • We never put a child’s name next to a photo.
  • If you see a photo of yourself or your child that you want removed, contact us and we will take it down.

Who can see your information

  • Christmas Fiesta registrations: only our board members and our registration team leaders, plus one assistant when they need extra help.
  • Messages and volunteer sign-ups: our board and the volunteers who run each program, and only what they need to do that job.
  • Partners who help us deliver gifts, and only what they need to get the gift to your family.
  • Services we use to run this website and store our records safely, such as our website host and Google (for the spreadsheets our volunteers use).

We never sell your information. We never give it to anyone for advertising.

How long we keep it

Family registrations: we keep them for up to three years, then we delete them.

Why three years? Some gifts, like bicycles, are limited. Looking back three years helps us make sure the same child does not receive a bicycle two years in a row, so more children get a turn.

Messages and volunteer sign-ups: we keep them only as long as we need them to answer you or run the program, then we delete them.

Cookies

A cookie is a tiny file a website saves in your browser.

  • Language cookie. Remembers if you chose English or Español, so the site stays in your language.
  • Login cookies. Only for our volunteers who sign in to update the website.
  • Visitor counting (only if you say yes). We use Google Analytics to count how many people visit our website and which pages they read, so we can reach more families. It never sees your name or what you type in our forms. If you tap “No, thanks” on the cookie notice, we do not count your visit. We do not use cookies to show ads.

You can change your mind at any time: Cookie settings. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but it may forget your language choice.

Links to other websites

Our pages link to our sponsors and to our social media pages. Those websites have their own privacy rules. We do not control them.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

  • show you the information we have about you or your family,
  • fix anything that is wrong,
  • delete your information.

Just contact us. It is free, and we will answer in English or Spanish.
